Post-Operative Instructions of Implant and Extraction

No food or drink after 2 hours from the surgery.
Avoid spitting, blowing up balloons, playing instruments that require a blowing action or any other activity that increases nasal or oral pressure after operation.
Avoid hot drinks, and hot and granular food for the next 7 days after the operation.
It is quite normal if your mouth bleeds a little after the operation. If bleeding continues, place a dampened gauze or handkerchief on the bleeding area and firmly bite. If it is still bleeding, then contact us immediately.
Use your mouthwash and keep brushing your teeth. You should start using your mouthwash and rinse your mouth with salty water (2 cups of warm water and 1 tsp salt) on your second day after the surgery. We recommend using mouthwash and mouth rinsing for at least two weeks.
Do not smoke and drink alcohol within the first 7 days after surgery.
Avoid Turkish bath, hot shower, sauna, and sea.
Avoid hot showers for the first 24 hours after operation. A warm shower is advised.
If you are prescribed antibiotics, you should use them until you finish the box.
If you are prescribed painkillers, you should take them even if you are not in pain.
Postoperative swelling is normal. To prevent swelling, it is recommended to apply ice packs around the surgical areas on your cheeks for the first 2 days. You may apply ice packs every 10 seconds.
If you are wearing dentures that cover the surgical area, please wear them as little as possible for the first week if you are not advised by your surgeon otherwise. Doing so will preserve the surgical area during the initial healing period.
It would be better if you avoid eating food such as rice or sesame that are comprised of small particles until at least your stitches and scars are fully healed. Because these small particles can get stuck around the surgical area and if it is not cleaned properly they may cause infection.
