We advise you to abstain from red wine, smoking, tea, coffee, and curries after the treatment as this will hinder the progress of the whitening.
The consumption of the aforesaid will also determine how long the teeth will remain your desired shade.
You are likely to suffer from mild sensitivity, especially in the first few days. We advise you to use anti-sensitivity toothpaste during the treatment.
Gum irritation can result from a small amount of solution leaking under the gum protection. A burning sensation on your gums may also occur. This should resolve on its own within a few hours to a few days.
- You may also experience burning and/or swelling of the lips.
- With home whitening, irritation can result from overfilling your trays causing leakage onto the gum tissue.
- Irritation can also occur if you are using the tray for too many hours when you first start whitening.
